Career Path
Working across industries on the greatest strategic challenges will provide diverse opportunities to develop and the skills to deliver lasting impact. But you won’t be on your own: at Marakon, you will be part of a firm that places huge emphasis on supporting your continual development, all the way from Associate to VP:
Associate: Joining as either a Graduate or PhD, you will join a project team from day one, having a key role in what we do. In getting to grips with the fundamentals of consulting, you will be supported by our well-structured training programme.
Consulting Associate: As you progress, you will work increasingly closely with our clients to understand their business challenges and communicate insights to them, and take ownership of larger and more complex components of projects.
Senior Associate: You are now transitioning to manager, developing and guiding the project team to deliver effective outcome for clients across a wide range of industries. Senior Associate is also the level at which MBAs join the firm.
Associate Principal: Your focus will now be becoming a true adviser to our clients, continuing to lead our teams’ problem-solving and developing deep expertise in a specific practice area.
Principal: As a Principal you will act as a peer advisor to our senior clients, a commercial thought-leader managing projects end-to-end and increasingly involved in the business development of our firm.
Director: Our Directors are actively involved in the delivery of client engagements, business development and defining the direction of our firm.
Meritocratic Progression
We assess progress and development of our consultants at our review forums, which take place every six months. The review forums are structured around recognizing achievements, understanding individual capability profiles and progress over time, as well as agreeing on how to best support each team member to reach their full potential.
This approach underlines not just the importance we place on development, but also our fundamental belief in promotion based on merit rather than tenure.
